Tour de Fat San Francisco 2010
New Belgium Brewing Company's Ballyhoo of Bikes and Beer

Saturday, September 25

For the 8th year in a row, Tour de Fat rolls into the Bay Area sharing the love of all things bicycling. The good folks at New Belgium Brewing first rode into Berkeley in 2003, before pedaling across the Bay Bridge to Golden Gate Park.

The Bay Area Ridge Trail Council will again partner with the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition to host another annual celebration in the park, featuring the absolutely-can't-miss-Bike-Parade (costumes HIGHLY encouraged), live music, home-made bikes, vaudevillian & other entertainment, trick bikes for all to ride, comedy, slow-ride bike contest, DIY tent, port-a-potty karaoke, amazing art bikes, and culminates in the bike swap (see http://www.newbelgium.com/trade).

Proceeds from merchandise and beer sales benefit these two great nonprofits; last year, the Tour raised ~$30,000 for the Council and SFBC, and over the past 7 years has raised tens of thousands to help complete the Ridge Trail.

Volunteer!!
It takes many many volunteers to run the Tour, but all of them have a blast; smiles and laughter are virtually guaranteed. Join the fun; and help raise funds to complete the Ridge Trail.

Sign up for volunteers shifts above.

All volunteers receive a Tour de Fat T-Shirt, beer token, Ridge Trail pin, our deep and sincere gratitude, and more Ridge Trail to ride or hike on.

Must be 21 to volunteer for ID Check, Beer Tokens or Beer Booth.

Thanks for your support. Ride on!

Bay Area Ridge Trail Council

The Bay Area Ridge Trail Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit uniting volunteers and agencies to plan, build, maintain, and promote a 550-mile multi-use trail on the ridgelines around San Francisco Bay. When complete, it will connect over 75 parks and open spaces.

The Ridge Trail serves the recreation needs of diverse communities, providing close-to-home recreation for all Bay Area residents and countless visitors. However, the Ridge Trail offers more than recreation for hikers, runners, mountain bicyclists, and equestrians: it provides an opportunity for people in the densely populated Bay Area to reconnect with the natural environment. The trail is both accessible to everyone through well-located trailheads, and remote, because users can quickly leave the urban environment and get out to unspoiled places.

The Council partners with local governments, public agencies, nonprofit land trusts, community members and trail advocates in all nine Bay Area counties. There are over 320 miles of dedicated Ridge Trail open for you to enjoy today and protected for future generations.  www.ridgetrail.org
